Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional)
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms, or 8 ounces canned sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 10 ounces canned cream of mushroom soup
- 12 ounces canned evaporated milk
- up to 1 cup of water
- 16 ounces wide egg noodles, or 3 cups rice
- salt and pepper to taste
- Prepare noodles or rice according to package directions.
- Brown beef together with onion and (fresh mushrooms) in deep skillet over medium to medium high heat. Add green pepper the last minute of cooking. Drain if necessary.
- Add soup, milk, and (canned mushrooms) and mix well. Simmer over low heat about 10 minutes. Add water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- Serve sauce over or mixed into noodles/rice.
