Chicken Pillows

From: B11 Ward Cookbook (Jaime)     Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3 Tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
  • 2 cups cooked cubed chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped onion
  • 8 ounces canned Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 3/4 cup seasoned croutons, crushed
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In medium bowl blend cream cheese and 2 Tbsp butter until smooth. Add chicken, salt, pepper, milk and onion and mix well.
  3. Separated dough into 4 rectangles, firmly pressing perforations to seal. Spoon 1/4 of meat mixture into center of each rectangle of dough. Pull 4 corners of dough together and seal edges.
  4. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, brush tops with 1 Tablespoon butter and sprinkle with crouton crumbs.  Bake for 20-25 minutes.
My Notes:
  • I have had the best success with the Pillsbury crescent rolls...the generic brands don't have enough give and end up tearing/ripping.
