Oriental Salad

Ingredients:
  • 2 heads napa cabbage, chopped fine
  • 3 green onions, chopped (including most of white part)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 Tablespoons sesame seed oil
  • 2 packages ramen noodles, crushed
  • small package slivered almonds
  • 3 Tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 3 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Directions:
  1. Toss together cabbage and onions, place in zip lock bags and store in refrigerator at least 2 hours before serving.
  2. Heat butter and sesame oil in pan over low heat. Add ramen noodles and almonds and saute until golden brown. Add sesame seeds to mixture just before removing to a paper towel-covered plate to "drain". Place in zip-lock bag and store in freezer at least 2 hours before serving.
  3. Combine vegetable oil, vinegar, soy sauce and sugar. Place in airtight container and shake well. Store in refrigerator at least 2 hours before serving.
  4. When ready to serve, combine cabbage mixture, ramen noodle mixture and well shaken dressing mixture in a large bowl. Mix well.
