Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup + 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 4-4 1/2 cups flour
- 4 cups (1 pound) powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ? Tablespoons milk
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together sugar and ½ cup butter.
- Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla and blend well.
- Add salt, baking soda, baking powder and 4 cups flour. Continue to add flour ¼ cup at a time until dough is gummy, but not sticky.
- Let chill in refrigerator while cleaning up.
- Either roll out and cut with cookie cutters, or drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet, then press down.
- Bake for 8 minutes. Let cool completely, then frost with icing.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together powdered sugar, vanilla, almond extract and 1 Tablespoon milk. Continue adding milk 1 Tablespoon at a time until icing reaches desired consistency.
